Every person on this page has been background-checked, licensed, and verified before they ever pulled into your driveway. What ties us together isn’t a motivational poster. Alicia Brennan, Owner
I started Back to Dry in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster, watching homeowners lose tens of thousands because a restoration crew “forgot” to document the pre-loss condition or couldn’t produce a drying log when the carrier asked. I built this company around that gap. I still sign off on every written scope before work starts, Haven Standard, Clause 1. I also still drive to jobs when the moisture readings don’t match the story someone’s telling. Outside of work, I restore vintage motorcycles badly and compete in local endurance riding events even worse. The mechanical precision transfers. The patience doesn’t always.
Marcus T., Lead Water Technician
Marcus has been running mitigation crews in North County San Diego for fourteen years, which means he’s dried out everything from a burst PEX line in a Cardiff-by-the-Sea beach cottage to a full Category 3 flood in a commercial kitchen in Carlsbad. He holds IICRC WRT and ASD certifications and specializes in psychrometric data interpretation, which is the fancy term for knowing exactly how much dehumidification a saturated structure actually needs instead of just throwing more equipment at it. He keeps a handwritten log of every job site’s “weird detail” in a waterproof notebook. The one from March 2024 just says “koi pond in master bedroom, third floor, no elevator.” He won’t explain further unless you buy him coffee.

Elena came to us from a environmental consulting firm in 2019 and brought with her a stubborn habit of taking air samples that the lab techs complain about because she labels them with such obsessive specificity. She’s certified in IICRC AMRT and handles our most complex containment builds, the kind where we’re working around immunocompromised residents or historic building materials in Encinitas Ranch. Her specialty is tertiary drying, the final phase where most crews declare victory too early and mold gets its second act. She grows orchids in a converted greenhouse at her home in Olivenhain and will absolutely lecture you on humidity control if you ask about them. She’s usually right.
David K., Service Coordinator
David is the voice you get when you call (760) 454-2594 at 3 a.m. because your water heater finally gave up. He’s been on our live dispatch desk for eight years, which means he’s heard every opening line from “I think it’s just a little wet” to “the floor is squishing.” He coordinates crew deployment across our sixteen-city service area, tracks equipment availability from Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, and Injectidry inventories, and preps the photo documentation packets that adjusters receive within four hours of job completion. He was a competitive swimmer at UC San Diego and still does open-water events in La Jolla Cove. He claims this is why he never panics on emergency calls. We’ve never seen him panic.
Javier M., Restoration Apprentice
Javier joined us in 2023 after completing a construction technology program at MiraCosta College and spending two years in residential HVAC. He’s our newest crew member and our most enthusiastic adopter of the daily moisture logging protocol, probably because he’s the one who still finds it satisfying when a psychrometric chart actually predicts reality. He’s training on vapor pressure differential calculations and Injectidry hardwood floor drying systems, and he’s already handled solo equipment monitoring on three full-structure dries in Encinitas and Solana Beach. He surfs Swami’s most mornings before shift and maintains a spreadsheet ranking local breakfast burritos by sauce consistency. The data is questionable. The commitment is not.
